ABOUT
Welcome! I'm Celeste, a passionate Occupational Therapist with a master's degree from the University of South Australia. My journey into this field was sparked by my work in the disability sector, where I witnessed the transformative power of Occupational Therapy in bringing people's aspirations to life.
With four years of dedicated experience, I specialize in supporting both children and adults.
I support children with neurodevelopmental disabilities like Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. My approach is rooted in a neuroaffirming perspective, placing the child at the center and the family as an integral part of the therapeutic journey.
For adults living with disabilities, I adopt a person-centered and functional approach, aiming to enhance independence in daily activities. Collaborating closely with families and support teams, I tailor my methods through individualized assessments, ensuring flexibility and adaptability during sessions.
My expertise extends beyond traditional therapy methods; I've undergone specialized training in sensory processing (such as the 'Traffic Jam in Your Brain') and neurodiversity-affirming practices (such as the 'Learn Play Thrive' approach to Autism). Additionally, I specialize in conducting functional capacity assessments.
In my practice, I integrate assistive technology and home modifications to eliminate barriers present in home environments. This ensures a seamless bridge between ability and personal goals, enabling individuals to engage in activities that hold meaning and purpose in their lives.
What truly motivates me is witnessing the joy and achievement when adults gain functional independence, engaging in activities that hold personal significance. I find immense fulfillment in witnessing the sparkle in a child's eyes as they learn something new, form connections, or master a new skill.
My commitment is to empower both children and adults, fostering independence, and enabling them to lead fulfilling lives. I look forward to embarking on this journey with you.
